I made myself a post it note holder when I got fed up of the post it notes getting damaged in the bottom of my hand bag. I have made several since as gifts for people.
I used mount board to make the covers which I then covered in paper on the outside

and card on the inside. I also made a holder to put a pencil in, good old Argos, I have even made these with a pocket on the inside to put receipts and things in.

I sometimes add glossy accents to the paper, this can make the holder easier to get hold of when you are fishing around in your handbag and it enhances the paper.
