Altered Bar Stool

Lucy has been busy again. When we visited Cromer she found some more decopatch papers she loved and convinced me that they would look good on her stool, I think she has done a wonderful job!
Each leg of the stool is a different colour, as is each rung. Lucy loves the seat part best, she has really taken to the Union Jack in a big way and spent ages getting the flags just how she wanted them to be seen. Although the colours could clash the stool is now very colourful and looks like a patchwork work of art standing in Lucy's crafty corner. And yes we do still use the stool!!

Beach Layout.

The photograph on this layout is taken at Walcott beach which is just down the road from where I live. I love this photo as it sums up for me everything I enjoy by the sea. I really prefer to visit the beach in the evening when it is empty so I can walk along by the sea edge. The tide is just turning and it is so calm. What you cannot see is what is happening behind me!! That is usually my children moaning about having to walk to far and who threw what at who and when can we have the ice-cream you promised us or I would like chips now.
The layout is very simple, I layered Bazzill Swiss Dots on each other and the photo is double matted to make it appear slightly larger, then because I was not brave enough to stamp directly onto the layout I stamped onto acetate using Stazon white ink (that's why there is a reflection) I used the flourish stamp to replicate waves. The acetate is held in place with brads.

Accordian Folder.

I made this accordion folder for my Mother-in-law for her birthday, it was so easy to make. I got the dimensions from Sylvia (watch this space for Sylvia's blog) The holder has six dividers so I also put six cards in it.
The papers I used are a mixture of Basic Grey and Stampin up.
I inked the edges of all the papers on the outside of the folder with distress inks, inside the tab and under the front panel of patterned paper are hidden magnets, I have found Basic Grey ones to be the best, I like the fact that they are hidden it makes the project more professional.
This folder will easily hold more than six cards. Each divider could be named so one compartment could be for gift tags, one could be for birthday cards and maybe one for thank you cards, the possibilities are endless!!

Jubilee Sweet Dispenser.

I made these sweet dispensers for Lucy and her friends to have at the street party they all went to and enjoyed very much. The sweet dispenser is made the same way as the previous one I made, it was also meant to have red, white and blue sweets in it but when I came in from work one day I discovered Adam and Lucy had eaten them all!!!!!!!!!

The mini bunting is made from card that has different textures, I thought it would look better than all plain card, as you can see from the picture the bunting is held in place by foam squares.
The decoration on the top of the boxes are punched out shapes from the Portabella Road papers.
Lucy still has her sweet dispenser, maybe because she knows if she leaves it in the kitchen or sitting room  I will fill it up with sweets.

Jubilee Theme

This is better late than never!!! Here is a card that I made using mainly Papermania's Portabella Road papers and buttons. The finished card size is 5"x5". I added definition to the cup and saucer by using promarkers in corresponding colours. The tag hanging from the handle says 'have a great day'.
I used a template for the tea-cup that was in an old copy of Papercraft Inspiration's, I have used this particular template many times, I just love the vintage feel it automatically gives projects. Bunting is so in still and always makes me smile when I see it as I always think of summer and long hot days.
